Dear DCIS at Fairmont Families,
The year is in full swing and students and teachers are well into the rituals and routines of everything from Morning Meetings to the reading and writing blocks. This year as a community we are continuing to work on building relationships with students and families and as a result we’ve committed as a staff to conducting a minimum of 10 Parent Teacher Home Visits in the first semester. The purpose of a home visit is to allow teachers, students, and families to connect. They also allow teachers to learn about the hopes and dreams families have for students and how they can be partners in achieving those hopes and dreams. Be on the lookout for sign-up sheets from teachers over the next few weeks as they continue to schedule home visits. Please let your students teacher know if you have questions regarding the process or if you would like to schedule a visit.
Reminders and Announcements
· Please be patient when picking up at the kiss and go we have had a few incidents where parents have been backing up out of the kiss and go and this is a huge safety concern for students and families.
· Now that the weather is changing, please be mindful of inside and outside days in the morning. Our office staff will post signs on the door letting parents and students know if it is an inside or outside day.
· Please help us respect teacher’s time during the school day. If you need to see a teacher please make an appointment before or after school.
· Please remember the designated drop off and pick up locations for your student’s grade level.
o ECE/K/1/2 – Outside of teacher’s classroom doors. (ECE parents must enter classroom and sign in)
o Grades: 3-5 In the quad area each teacher has a designated spot

Brrrrr….it’s getting cold outside! We have long sleeve t-shirts available, crew neck sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts. Please see the office to purchase.
Long sleeve shirts - $12 each or 3 for $33.

· Fall Break for Students, October 26th- October 31st - No School for Students
