Estimadas Familias,

¡No podemos creer que estemos ya en la primera semana de octubre! Nuestros estudiantes han estado haciendo un trabajo fenomenal y estamos muy orgullosos de lo que han logrado en tan corto tiempo. Nos reunimos con nuestro Superintendente de instrucción para pasar datos esta semana y hemos tenido mucho que celebrar. Estamos empezando el año con la mayoría de nuestros alumnos leyendo nivel de su grado más del 60% de nuestros niños en K-5 van avanzando con el objetivo de que 80% de la escuela este en nivel de grado para fin de año.  También tenemos muchas cosas divertidas en octubre. También se llevara a cabo nuestra casa de espanto y carnaval anual donde los estudiantes y familias podrán aprender del Día de Los Muertos. Le enviaremos más detalles sobre el carnaval y sobre como puede ser voluntario y como puede apoyar a nuestros estudiantes de 5° en recaudar fondos para su excursión de noche. ¡Gracias por todo su apoyo!

Recordatorios y Anuncios

 

·         Por favor sea paciente al recoger en el Kiss and Go que está localizado en la parte delantera de la escuela hemos tenido algunos incidentes donde los padres se están estacionando en el Kiss and Go. Recuerda que el Kiss and Go es un carril para los bomberos y estacionarse allí es ilegal.

·         Por favor, sea consciente de los días  de esperar adentro o afuera  por las mañanas. Nuestro personal de oficina publicara letreros en la puerta dejándoles saber si es un día de esperar a que suene la campana afuera o adentro. 

·         Por favor ayúdanos a respetar el tiempo del maestro durante el día escolar. Si usted necesita ver a un maestro por favor haga una cita antes o después de la escuela.

·         Por favor recuerde el lugar designado de cada clase al dejar y recoger a su hijo/a.

Volume 5 , Edition 3

 

Dear Families,

We can’t believe that we are already in the first week of October! Our students have been doing a phenomenal job and we are so proud of what they have achieved in such a short amount of time. We met with our instructional superintendent to go over data this week and we had a great deal to celebrate! We are starting off the year with a majority of our students reading on grade level over 60% of our kids in K-5 are on track with the overall school goal of 80% on grade level by the end of the year!  We also have so many fun things coming up in October. We will also be hosting our annual Haunted House and Carnival with a twist where students and families will learn about Día de Los Muertos. We will send more details about the carnival and how you can volunteer and support our 5^th graders as they raise money for their overnight. Thanks for all of your support!

Reminders and Announcements

·         Please be patient when picking up at the kiss and go we have had a few incidents where parents have been parking in the Kiss and Go. Remember that the Kiss and Go is a fire lane and parking there is illegal.

·         Please be mindful of inside and outside days in the morning. Our office staff will post signs on the door letting parents and students know if it is an inside or outside day.

·         Please help us respect teacher’s time during the school day. If you need to see a teacher please make an appointment before or after school.

·         Please remember the designated drop off and pick up locations for your student’s grade level.

o    ECE/K/1/2 – Outside of teacher’s classroom doors. (ECE parents must enter classroom and sign in)

Box Tops

Box Top contest to benefit DCIS students and staff

The classroom that collects the most Box Tops

at the end of each month gets a popcorn party!

Check your your groceries (cereal, snacks, etc.) for the Box Top logo.

Cut them off the box and give them to your student’s classroom teacher.

This is easy money for our community.

Your participation is greatly appreciated!

APTT Invitation/ Invitacion de Conferencias

Dear Parents,

 

We believe that parent-teacher relationships are crucial for academic success. For that reason we would like to invite you to be a part of our APTT or Academic Parent-Teacher Teams. This is a parent involvement program that increases the communication and interaction between parents and teachers to facilitate collaboration between school and family. Together we will support the academic success of your child. The schedule is built to accommodate all families and the different grade levels of their children.

 

During our team meeting, we will:

 

✓    look at your child's beginning of the year test results

✓    compare that to end of the year goal

✓    set a goal to be met by conferences in February

✓    demonstrate activities that you can use at home with your child

✓    have a chance to practice these activities during our meeting

✓    allow time to network with other parents in your own child's classroom

 

Another important aspect of meeting as a classroom team is the opportunity we will have to build a trusting relationship.  Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Queridos Padres,

 

Creemos que las relaciones entre padres y maestros son muy importantes para el éxito académico de los niños, por esa razón queremos invitarlos a ser parte de nuestro APTT - Equipos de Padres-Maestros Académicos.  Este es un programa para mejorar la comunicación e interacción entre padres y maestros y para facilitar la colaboración entre la escuela y la familia.  Juntos podemos lograr el triunfo académico de su niña/o. Hemos hecho el horario para acomodar a familias con más de un niño en la escuela.

 

Durante nuestra reunión:

✓    revisaremos los resultados de los exámenes del principio del año

✓    compararemos estos a la meta para el final del año

✓    formar una meta que se logrará para las conferencias en febrero

✓    les demostraremos actividades que podrán utilizar en casa

✓    tendrán la oportunidad de practicar estas actividades durante nuestra reunión

✓    tendrán tiempo para hablar con otros padres del salón

 

Otro aspecto importante de nuestra reunión es la oportunidad que tendremos de cultivar una relación basada en la confianza y el respeto. Por favor comuníquese con el maestro si tiene alguna pregunta.
