Dear DCIS at Fairmont Families,
It is hard to believe that it is already March! We are just a few weeks away from Spring Break and our students have worked incredibly hard and learned so much. We have so much going on over the next couple of months that we wanted to devote this newsletter to making sure you were up to date with all of the amazing things happening, from our community meet and greet for our new assistant principal to our overnight field trips to PARCC testing and even our VIP dance for our youngest learners and so much more! We want to make sure students are in school so that they don’t miss out on the things teachers have planned over the next couple of weeks.
Our goal for this year is to reach a 94% attendance rate school wide! Attendance Rates for the Month of February for each teacher are as follows:

Important Upcoming Dates
3/13-4/21-CMAS/PARCC Testing will take place for students in grades 3-5.
3/7-PAC Coffee- our Parent Coffee will take place from 8:30-9:30am
3/8-Meet and Greet- Come meet our two finalists for Assistant Principal for next year from 5:00-6:30pm.
3/9-SAC- Come and take part in the decision-making meetings for our SAC as we discuss the draft proposed calendar for next year and update the committee on positions filled for next year.
3/9-3/10-K Overnight
3/1-Global Village Share Out- Stop by the main hallway starting 3/1 to see what students have done over the past semester in their global villages.
March 17th- ECE No School
3/20- Second Round Choice- If you did not submit your Round 1 School of Choice Application please see the office.
3/21-PTA Meeting- from 5:30-6:30pm in Library – Childcare is provided
3/23-Class Picture Day
3/23-VIP Dance- ECE-2nd grade from 5:00pm-7:00pm- Come dance the night away with us!
3/27-3/31-Spring Break
